はじめに、北海道在住の方122名に「お住まいのエリアで特にどこの神社が好きですか？」と質問したところ、『北海道神宮（50票）』と回答した方が最も多く、次いで『上川神社（7票）』『札幌諏訪神社（6票）』となりました。
北海道では「北海道神宮」が圧倒的な人気を誇り、122名の調査参加者のうち50名が支持。札幌市に位置し、北海道の総鎮守として人々から信仰を集めるこの神社は、美しい自然に囲まれ、訪れる人々に心地よい静けさを提供しています。
rst, we asked 122 residents of Hokkaido, “Which shrine in your area do you particularly like?” The most common answer was “Hokkaido Shrine (50 votes),” followed by “Kamikawa Shrine (7 votes)” and “Sapporo Suwa Shrine (6 votes).
In Hokkaido, “Hokkaido Jingu Shrine” was overwhelmingly popular, supported by 50 of the 122 survey participants. Located in Sapporo City, this shrine, which people worship as the chief Shinto shrine of Hokkaido, is surrounded by beautiful nature and offers visitors a pleasant sense of tranquility.

In the Tohoku area, the most popular shrines were Shiogama Shrine, which has long been located in Miyagi Prefecture as the guardian of the Tohoku region and the Ichinomiya (highest-ranked shrine) of the ancient province of Mutsu; Iwakisan Shrine in Aomori Prefecture, located at the foot of beautiful Mount Iwaki, also called Tsugaru Fuji; and Takekoma Shrine and Kanahebisui Shrine in Iwanuma City, Miyagi Prefecture.

初詣で例年日本一の参拝者数となる東京都渋谷区の「明治神宮」の他、約1600年の歴史を有し、全国唯一の八方除（はっぽうよけ）の守護神をおまつりする神奈川県の「寒川神社」や鎌倉市にある「鶴岡八幡宮」、東京都千代田区にある「靖國神社」、日本でも指折りの古社「氷川神社（埼玉県さいたま市）」などがあがりました。

四国地方で人気の神社は？【四国在住の94名に徹底調査】Which shrines are popular in the Shikoku region?
四国地方在住の方94名に「お住まいのエリアで特にどこの神社が好きですか？」と質問をしたところ、『金刀比羅宮（香川県・10票）』『大麻比古神社（徳島県・10票）』が同率1位となり、次いで『大山祇神社（愛媛県・6票）』『田村神社（香川県・6票）』『愛媛県護国神社（愛媛県・6票）』が同率3位となりました。
四国地方は香川県の「金刀比羅宮」、農業・産業の守り神である天太玉命（大麻比古命）と、交通安全厄除けの神の猿田彦命がまつられている徳島県鳴門市の「大麻比古神社」が人気を集めました。
また、愛媛県の「大山祇神社」「愛媛県護国神社」や香川県高松市にある「田村神社」などにも票が集まりました。
We asked 94 residents of the Shikoku region, “Which shrine in particular do you like in your area?” The top three shrines were Kotohira Shrine (Kagawa Prefecture, 10 votes) and Ooasahiko Shrine (Tokushima Prefecture, 10 votes), followed by Oyamatsumi Shrine (Ehime Prefecture, 6 votes), Tamura Shrine (Kagawa Prefecture, 6 votes), and Ehime Gokoku Shrine (Ehime Prefecture, 6 votes).
In the Shikoku region, the most popular shrines were “Kotohira Shrine” in Kagawa Prefecture and “Ooasahiko Shrine” in Naruto City, Tokushima Prefecture, which is dedicated to Amatama-no-Mikoto (deity of agriculture and industry) and Sarutahiko-no-Mikoto, the god of traffic safety and protection from bad luck.
Also receiving votes were “Oyamatsumi Shrine” and “Ehime Gokoku Shrine” in Ehime Prefecture, and “Tamura Shrine” in Takamatsu City, Kagawa Prefecture.

九州・沖縄地方在住の方120名に同様の質問をしたところ、『太宰府天満宮（福岡県・14票）』と回答した方が最も多く、次いで『霧島神宮（鹿児島県・6票）』『宗像大社（福岡県・6票）』となりました。
九州最大級の規模の神社である「太宰府天満宮」は、天神さまをおまつりする全国12,000社の天満宮の総本宮として有名で、九州・沖縄地方では特に人気が高いようです。
その他、鹿児島県霧島市の「霧島神宮」、日本神話に登場する日本最古の神社の一つである福岡県宗像市の「宗像大社」も人気であることがわかりました。
When 120 residents in the Kyushu/Okinawa region were asked the same question, the most common answer was “Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine (Fukuoka Prefecture, 14 votes),” followed by “Kirishima Jingu Shrine (Kagoshima Prefecture, 6 votes)” and “Munakata Taisha Shrine (Fukuoka Prefecture, 6 votes).
Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine, one of the largest shrines in Kyushu, is famous as the head shrine of the 12,000 Tenmangu shrines across Japan dedicated to Tenjin-sama, and seems to be particularly popular in the Kyushu-Okinawa region.
Other popular shrines include “Kirishima Jingu” in Kirishima City, Kagoshima Prefecture, and “Munakata Taisha” in Munakata City, Fukuoka Prefecture, one of the oldest shrines in Japanese mythology.

「その神社が好きな理由を教えてください（複数選択可）」と質問したところ、『歴史や伝統が特に気に入っているから（48.5％）』と回答した方が最も多く、次いで『建築や自然の美しさが気に入っているから（35.4％）』『自然に囲まれていてリラックスできるから（33.8％）』という結果になりました。
神社の歴史や伝統に魅力を感じている方が半数近くにのぼり、その他に建築や自然の美しさなども理由としてあがりました。

6割以上の方が、気持ちが清められるという理由で、神社めぐりが好きなことが明らかになりました。
神社めぐりが好きな方は、神社特有の静けさを体感することで日々の忙しさを忘れ、心の安らぎを得ているのかもしれません。
また、歴史・文化への興味から神社めぐりをしているという声も多くあがりました。
ただ参拝するだけではなく、自然豊かな環境や居心地のよさによりリフレッシュしたり、歴史や伝統に触れてその価値を感じたりするなど、神社めぐりにはさまざまな魅力があることが明らかになりました。

今回の調査で、神社が好きな理由や神社めぐりの魅力は、多岐にわたっていることが明らかになりました。
好きな神社の魅力としては、歴史や伝統に魅力を感じている方が半数近くにのぼり、その他に建築や自然の美しさなど、神社そのものがもつ魅力が多くの人を惹きつけているようです。
神社めぐりが好きな理由としては、約6割の方が静寂な場所での心の浄化と回答しました。
さらに、歴史・文化への関心も高い割合を占めていることから、神社はただ参拝に行くためだけの場所ではなく、文化的・歴史的な価値をもつ場所であるとともに、現代の生活の中で癒しを得られる場としての役割もあるといえるでしょう。
